Have you ever babysat and got paid less than you expected? Have you ever worked hard at a job and weren’t paid for what you deserved? Have you ever put one-hundred percent into a project for school and still got a bad grade? Blue collar workers go through these struggles everyday in their careers. They suffer with the intense muscle pain everyday, they have to keep up with modern technology and design to perform and complete the task that they were assigned, and a lot of them have to be proficient with math, English and science.

Blue collar workers everyday deal with muscle pain, heavy lifting, awkward positions and standing everyday. The North West Pain Relief Center states,”People with blue collar jobs or those who are required to do heavy manual work are more prone to lumber aches.”

Blue collar workers also have to understand and get familiar with new and modern technology and design. Technology is always advancing coming out with new and better designs. There’s new equipment that is build to do special jobs. According to Bob O’Donnell, a blue collar researcher, there are over 150 programmable computer elements in modern equipment, over 100 million lines of software and the structure is advancing within construction and design on buildings.Understanding mathematics, science and English is a strength is blue collar jobs. You have to be able to read manuals and read designs, and understand depth and measurements. According to Henri Bauholz, a Ford mechanic he knows through first hand experience that mechanics use math for correct measurement upon bolts, lengths, fluids and pressure. There’s science behind chemicals in cars and components. English is also used to understand manuals can help to read up on design. Blue collar workers need raises because of the strain upon their bodies and the education requirements.
